COMMUNITY PICNIC AND BAR-B-QUE

Join us for our popular summer gathering at Arsenal Park (behind the mall).  Great socializing, playing and eating for all ages.  Visitors welcome.  We have a reserved picnic area with tables, bar-b-que pits, sprinkler to run through, playing fields, shelter from the sun and bathrooms.  KB provides the grill items and members bring the rest.  Info@kahalbraira.org

ROSH HASHANAH MORNING SERVICE (FAMILY)

Join KB for our unique family Rosh Hashanah services! This is a beautiful, humanistic holiday celebration. Accessible to all!

It is appropriate for school age children through adult.  There is a separate younger children’s portion to the service geared to children 5 & under and their parents and includes a snack.

Apples and honey and holiday refreshments are served after the service. No tickets are required but pre-registration is encouraged.

Author Steve Almond will talk about the frequently overlooked power of stories in our lives, and how, as a humanist, he grapples with their underlying meaning to live what Socrates referred to as “the examined life.” Steve is the author of many books, teaches at Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard, and hosts the podcast “Dear Sugars” with fellow writer Cheryl Strayed.

YOM KIPPUR EVE SERVICE (ADULT)

Join KB for our Adult Yom Kippur services! This is a beautiful, humanistic holiday celebration.   Kol Nidre, ancient and traditional melody will be chanted.  There will be a memorial section where you may offer names of loved ones departed.  The service is accessible to all and all are welcome. No tickets are required but we greatly appreciate pre-registration.

Join us at 3:30 pm for an afternoon adult service with social justice themes.  At 4:30 pm, we hold a brief family service.  At 5:00 pm we will all join together for kiddush and a break-fast holiday meal.  All are welcome.  We welcome you to bring something to the potluck.  Sign up HERE.
