    FARMING DAY AT GAINING GROUND

    Join us for a morning of farming at Gaining Ground Farm.  Gaining Ground is a non-profit organic farm in Concord that operates with the help of community volunteers, and donates all its produce to local food pantries, shelters and meal programs.  A typical volunteering session may include planting vegetables, weeding, mulching or clearing the fields.  This event is open to adults and kids age 5+.  The activity is wheelchair accessible.  Space is limited!  Reserve info@kahalbraira.org

    ADULT SERVICE AND PROGRAM AND SUNDAY SCHOOL – END OF THE YEAR CELEBRATION

    We will hear from our school children about what they have learned and they will lead our humanistic Jewish service filled with singing.  At the end of the morning, enjoy a potluck and hang out on the back patio for as long as you like.

    COMMUNITY PICNIC AND BAR-B-QUE

    Join us for our popular summer gathering at Arsenal Park (behind the mall).  Great socializing, playing and eating for all ages.  Visitors welcome.  We have a reserved picnic area with tables, bar-b-que pits, sprinkler to run through, playing fields, shelter from the sun and bathrooms.  KB provides the grill items and members bring the rest.  Info@kahalbraira.org

    Join KB for our unique family Rosh Hashanah services! This is a beautiful, humanistic holiday celebration. Accessible to all!

    It is appropriate for school age children through adult.  There is a separate younger children’s portion to the service geared to children 5 & under and their parents and includes a snack.

    Apples and honey and holiday refreshments are served after the service. No tickets are required but pre-registration is encouraged.

    Author Steve Almond will talk about the frequently overlooked power of stories in our lives, and how, as a humanist, he grapples with their underlying meaning to live what Socrates referred to as “the examined life.” Steve is the author of many books, teaches at Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard, and hosts the podcast “Dear Sugars” with fellow writer Cheryl Strayed.

    Join KB for our Adult Yom Kippur services! This is a beautiful, humanistic holiday celebration.   Kol Nidre, ancient and traditional melody will be chanted.  There will be a memorial section where you may offer names of loved ones departed.  The service is accessible to all and all are welcome.
