  • Singing and dancing with Zach, all ages, in-person
    Join our music director Zach Mayer for a workshop in new Jewish songs and old Jewish dances, designed to get people singing and moving together in a casual and fun way. After spending the past two years on a screen, it’s time to get up and dance! All are welcome. No musical knowledge or dance experience necessary.
  • Mezuzah Craft Workshop (all ages, in-person)
    What is a Humanistic Mezuzah and why does it lean? Adults, teens and kids are welcome to stop by and find out while we make personalized mezuzot from wood or LEGOs. Lots of inspiring supplies will be provided but feel free to bring your own including a poem, quote, photo, or drawing that you might want to place inside. Donations of LEGOs would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have a unique one you’d like to share, please bring it as we will also have a small display.
  • Concerned about Climate Change? Come Learn & Take Action! (ages 5 to 105, in-person)
    Come learn and take action!  Nili Pearlmutter, Bambi Good, and some of our tremendous teens will be leading a session.  While Bambi and the teens read age appropriate environmental books with the children, Nili will lead adults in a short, informative session about a cimate action organization called Mothers Out Front and their current Massachusetts campaign.  Then adults and children will work together to create cards and letters for our legislators.
  • Discussion of the film Ida  (adults and teen, Zoom)
    Join KB Co-President Nancy Waters for a discussion of the movie Ida (2013) by Pawel Pawlikoski, which was the first Polish film to win an Academy Award. You can read about the movie here, and watch a trailer here.

    Then we will discuss some of the most frequently asked questions about Humanistic Judaism:
    1. What is Secular Humanistic Judaism?
    2. How can someone be Jewish without believing in God?
    3. Why is Humanistic Judaism a separate movement?
    4. Is Humanistic Judaism a religion?

    Come with your ideas and questions! This meeting is open to anyone who feels new to KB.
