Our Dues Structure
All are welcome to be members of Kahal B'raira! We celebrate Jewish history and culture, learn new things about ourselves and the world, build lasting friendships, and promote a caring network of support.
Sustaining Pledge Model
One of KB’s key values is inclusivity; we aspire to be a welcoming congregation for all who would like to join us. In support of this value, KB has moved to a flexible, inclusive, Sustaining Pledge model for Membership. In this funding model, there is no set membership fee. Instead, each member (individual or family) decides how much to pay for their KB membership.
To help members decide how much to pay to belong to KB, we have calculated a Suggested Pledge amount that takes into consideration what we have traditionally collected from dues, annual fundraising needs, and anticipated expenses during the year. Those Members who can not pay this amount are welcome to pledge amounts that work for them. Members who can afford more than the suggested pledge are encouraged to pledge an additional amount.
Our hope and expectation is that the generosity of those who can pledge amounts higher than the suggested amount will help us fulfill both our membership and fundraising goals at the same time.
- For household members, the suggested Sustaining Pledge is $2,130
- For individual members, the suggested Sustaining Pledge is $1,255
You can find more information that may help you decide your own sustaining pledge amount here. We also have answers to some frequently asked questions. Please feel free to contact co-presidents Melinda Rothstein or Cathy Cabrera at presidents@kahalbraira.org if you have further questions.
